{"id":688,"date":"2020-09-08T14:01:26","date_gmt":"2020-09-08T13:01:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nichsmith.info\/?post_type=bauman_portfolio&#038;p=688"},"modified":"2020-09-08T14:01:27","modified_gmt":"2020-09-08T13:01:27","slug":"the-black-watch-museum","status":"publish","type":"bauman_portfolio","link":"https:\/\/www.nichsmith.info\/?bauman_portfolio=the-black-watch-museum","title":{"rendered":"THE BLACK WATCH MUSEUM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Client: The Black Watch Museum Trust<br \/>\nExhibition Design:  StudioMB<\/p>\n<p>Services:  Lighting Design<br \/>\nOverview:  Exhibition lighting design for a regimental museum<br \/>\nCompleted: 2013<\/p>\n<p>Refurbishment of Balhousie Castle with new gallery layouts telling the 300-year regimental story of The Black Watch from inception to the modern day.<\/p>\n<p>Thirteen new galleries, each representing different eras of military campaigns, tell the history of one of Scotland\u2019s elite regiments not just from an historical perspective but from a personal point of view too.<\/p>\n<p>Low ceilings in the ground floor galleries required miniature LED spotlights. Many of the First-Floor galleries were balanced with daylight as full height windows were retained, allowing the architecture of the building to remain on display and preserving views from the castle.
